Delta Rho - Ft. Wayne,

In 1975/76 Evie Esselbum was Beta Province Pres. and Violet Pettit Tindall was her VIO. Evie was terrified that she would mess up big time, but after meeting with Violet the week prior to Province,, she put all her fears to rest. Violet was very serious and completely business-like but also warm and friendly. The week after the Province, Violet sent Evie a loving cup charm for her sorority charm bracelet and a note praising her for the Province weekend. That weekend, Violet wanted to know all about Evieís family and remembered their names, always asking about them whenever she and Evie met. At the 1975 Intíl Convention in Columbus, OH Violet invited Evie to her room to introduce her to Fern (Palmer Shick), they visited for almost 2 hours. Evie left knowing that SPG was an important part of her life. She feels very blessed to have known both Violet and Fern personally and feels that she patterned her sorority membership after Violetís example. Our founders were very special women. Delta Rho lost a sister on Jan. 24th, Lyndia Suntken was one of the original members of Lambda Sigma in Butler, IN. (1973-2006). Lyndia held many chapter and Province offices, including Beta Province President, she received her Life Membership in New Orleans. She was an inactive life member of Delta Rho and will truly be missed.

Nu Theta - Columbia City,

Girl Responsible for Nu Theta, Betty, met all five Life Founders through the years, but one stands out among the rest for her, Violet Pettit Tindall. Betty met Violet when she was pledged into Delta Phi, Violet also initiated Betty into sorority. When it was time to receive her 25 year membership, Violet was the one who presented it to her. When Betty received her 50 year membership, Violet had already passed but she knows she was watching from above. At Nancy's first International Convention in Arlington, Texas Nancy and Betty ran into Violet and had their picture taken with her. Violet was the only Life Founder Nancy had the pleasure of meeting.

Xi Mu - Angola,

Lana had the good fortune to meet all five Life Founders. She knows she shouldnít have had a favorite Founder, but she did, Ferne Palmer Shick. Ferne reminded Lana of her grandmother, with her quick wit and positive attitude. Ferne had a twinkle in her eyes that let you know she enjoyed life. Lana felt blessed to have had the opportunity to see the personal side of Ferne.

Delta Omega - Windsor, Ontario

Delta Omega had another very successful Christmas Wrap in December. Unfortunately, the Christmas season was saddened by a tragic loss for our 50 year sister, Beryl, her husband passed away suddenly on Christmas Day. Since the news of his passing has reached our International membership Bee has received countless cards and letters of sympathy. She cannot express how wonderful it has been to feel so cared for and comforted at this time, she wishes to express her deepest thanks to all those who have reached out to her.
